My most favourite dog - Dudley

Winter is at the door step and Dudley is rugged up for the night.  Dudley is not designed for the Tasmanian weather. If he is not rugged up, he shivers in his bed in winter.

When will you arrive at Launceston?  Do you need a pick up at the airport?

Forrest will always try his best to escape when put on leash. He destroyed two leashes, one collars and one body harness!! Luckily he doesn't need them anymore and will stay calm when we tie him for shower. We had him only recently for about 1 year plus. He still couldn't get along well with our neighbours dogs, as he literally "push" them away once they get near to our house (his territory, used to be others hang around place) and they in turn will come near in a big group and bark. We suspect that he is alienated because he looks different due to his voluminous hair, while other new comers do mix well with them. Anyway he is very friendly with people he knew, and he'd get super excited when you start playing with him, dancing all over the place...

Or maybe that's what he learned from Millie, so he applies to others that are weaker than him. LOL.
Can't wait to meet them~ ^^

Yes, Dudley is very friendly to people (but not always to other dogs, in particular small size dogs). He used to be very apprehensive of people, probably because the previous owner(s) had not been very good to him.  If you called him, his first reaction was to run away. He does not mind being tied up but will run away if he finds a chance. He has been with us for 4 years now. These days, when you put your hand over his head to pat him, he still will instinctively duck. He is getting better hanging around but still cannot be trusted.

When he was about a year old, he developed an unfriendly attitude towards dogs of a smaller size than his. I think this could be an underdog complex. Our first dog Millie is much bigger in size and she constantly asserts dominance over him. So he seeks compensation over dogs apparently "weaker" than him. We took him to dog schools to train him socialisation. He was fine at school. Just like his run away syndrome, he could be unpredictable with petite dogs at times.

By the ways, both our dogs are very people and kids friendly.

Oh i forgot to say, we almost lost him too the first day i took him. He was very apprehensive that day, while I took him for grooming. He slipped off the loosely fitted old collar and ran towards the main road and never respond to call. My heart nearly stop as I thought he would mindlessly cross the busy street. Luckily we managed to get him after he slowed down his pace. Oh what an incident.

Is Dudley friendly? =)

Thanks~ Forrest too, but we don't have a fenced backyard, so we kept him at the porch which is grilled up when he first arrived. He howls whenever being tied up, maybe his previous owner let him run freely. Then a few months later, we let him out while observing him closely, and he mainly stay close to the house, so we let him. He doesn't always respond to call back too, but most of the time he would appear from no where while we step out of the door, or when he hears the sound his bowl. *grin* =)

Your Forrest is adorably. Our Dudley likes running away. We have a fenced backyard. If he is outside the house or the backyard, he has to be tied. He would come back but at his own time. There have been several occasions that we thought we would lose him. If he would respond to call back better, he would have been perfect.
