As part of my rehabilitation, I have been going to the Deloraine Men's Shed again. It is nice to get out of the house, see my friends in the shed and be able to use some tools. This Tassie Oak plate is what I finished today. I did most of the shaping and finishing on the lathe. I would say this is 80% my work.
This is a Blackwood bowl I turned earlier but I got help from a guy in the shed. My grip was not very good at that time and his help was much appreciated. My contribution was probably 20%. This is turned out from a piece of fiddleback Blackwood timber, more precious and expensive than Tassie Oak and you can see the difference.
