Have you paid? I have not heard of this hotel. I would recommend the Old Bakery Inn (my father in law has stayed there) which is a heritage listed building.  The rooms are cosy and clean. A standard double room these days is only $75 per night: http://www.wotif.com/hotel/View? ... p;destination=14418. It is equally close to town. To walk from this hotel to the city centre at night is probably safer than from the Batman Fawkner Inn (Cameron St is quiet at night).
