Metro Tasmania has regular scheduled services providing easy access to the city, only a short walk away from the waterfront.

On the water
Make the most of Hobart’s harbour and catch a ferry or water taxi. Ferries depart from Brooke Street Pier/ Franklin Wharf and water taxis from Watermans Dock.

Park and Cycle
Make use of the Intercity Cycleway, or Park and Cycle from the Regatta Grounds. Bicycle Tasmania will again be operating a dedicated bicycle valet parking service in the City Forecourt and temporary bike hoops will be located at Parliament House Lawns.

Park and walk
The Council will be operating a free parking service on the Regatta Grounds from 10am-6pm daily. This will be extended until 10.30pm on New Year’s Eve.

Market Place Car Park provides secure off-street parking for 24 hours over New Year’s Eve.

Road closures
There will be a partial road closure along Franklin Wharf between Brooke Street and Constitution Dock. Franklin Wharf will be closed to west-bound traffic between Constitution Dock and Brooke Street. One-way access will be available to east-bound traffic entering via Brooke Street.

From 28 Dec-3 Jan, Castray Esplanade - Morrison Street will be closed for Festival activities between 10am-11pm daily between Murray Street and the Silo end of Castray Esplanade.

There are taxi and bus drop-off point at Franklin Wharf and Castray Esplanade. Please refer to road closure notices in The Mercury newspaper.
