MERCURY：杀害TINA的凶手等待判刑

THE men who killed Chinese university student Tina Yu will not be sentenced until the middle of the year.

Daniel Joe Williams, 22, of Kingston, and Stavros Papadopoulos, 22, of New Town, appeared via videolink before Justice Peter Evans in the Supreme Court in Hobart yesterday.

Papadopoulos has pleaded guilty to murdering Zhang "Tina" Yu at his New Town flat on June 25 last year.

Williams was found guilty by a Supreme Court jury last month of manslaughter.

Ms Yu, 26, a University of Tasmania accounting student, died after being bashed with a concrete block, punched, strangled and drowned in a bath.

Her body was found in a river near the Mt Field National Park five days after she died.

Williams and Papadopoulos will reappear in the Supreme Court on June 7, when a date for their sentencing hearing will be fixed.
